May is Red Cross month. The 8th May is the anniversary of the birth of Henri Dunant, founder of the Red Cross Movement. We ask schools and businesses to participate by allowing students and staff to wear red and white for a minimum donation of $2. We added a twist to this by encouraging members of the community to do something in their home, school, office, and community to promote safety, health & preparedness. We provide stickers for each person who participates. All funds received from Red Cross month are allocated for local programs and are completely separate from fundraising for international disaster appeals.
